The Certificate in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language. (CTAFL)
This certificate course is designed to meet the rapidly growing demand for trained and qualified teachers of Arabic in the UK and elsewhere. The course lays great emphasis on the practical skills required to teach Arabic while taking account of the varied needs for teaching Arabic in secondary schools, at further and adult educational institutions, as well as in higher education establishments.
The course is suitable for novice teachers and for in-service training (in the teaching of Arabic). With a large part of the programme devoted to classroom observation and teaching practice, it not only caters for those who wish to become teachers of Arabic and have no teaching experience to date, but also serves to refresh and consolidate the teaching techniques of those who are already teaching.It is the only teacher training course in Arabic as a Foreign Language in the UK and Europe and was established in association with LWW-CETL and SOAS Language Centre.
